It is possible to find and/or translate any article listed in the Foundation Library in to many languages. Primarily there are two methods.

First, finding an article already translated.
Many Websites translate materials from their Website and make it available to the reader as part of the Website service. For example, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has "General Conference Archive" available in nearly 40 different languages. This services is available at:

Choose A Language

Most languages provide conference talks from the late 1990's. Another example where a specific Website provides a translated version of their materials can be found at "Befrienders International."  At this site the reader will locate the site written in nine languages including Chinese, Arabic and others. The readers simply selects the language he or she wishes to view the website.

As the reader navigates the Foundation Library pay attention to the different languages in which the various Websites have provided their materials. This information is usually found on the Website's respective homepage. Translations that have already  been provided by the Website's sponsors are usually preferred because extra care is usually taken in the translating process.

Second, electronically translating an article yourself.
The second method of getting a translated version of a specific article is do translate it yourself! Today's technology allows anyone to translate any article into a variety of different languages. This translation process is available free on the Internet and is relatively easy. Generally, translating an article is a two step process.

Step one: Identify the URL address of the Web page you wish to translate. The URL address always begin with: http:// and is located at the top of your browser. The easiest way to capture this URL address is to cut or copy it.

Step two: Next, you simply take the URL address of the selected Web to a Web translating service available on the Internet. Several translating sites are available AltaVista - Babel Fish (Languages available: Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, & Spanish.) and Free Translation(Languages available: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Dutch, Italian, & Norwegian).  Each of these Internet services function in a similar way.

Once you go to the translating service Website, for example Free Translation you would paste the URL address you captured in step one into the Web Translator slot. (You'll recognize the location to paste your Web Page URL by the http:// marking.) Select the language you wish to translate to. And finally, simply press the Translate button and within a few seconds the article is available in the selected language.

It should be remembered that these translating services are not 100% accurate. For example, some words specific to religious teachings and mental health concepts may not be translated properly. However, the reader can at least get the "gist" of an article.

For your convenience we have placed the Free Translation and Babel Fish service on the Foundation Library Index page in the button marked "Translate now."

Languages using different a alphabet such as Korean, Chinese and Japanese will require you first install a "Language Packet" to obtain the respective alphabet prior to translation.
