PARENTING AND FAMILY

Parenting comprises all the tasks involved in raising a child to an independent adult. Parenting begins even before the child is born or adopted and may last until the death of the parent or child. Parenting is a part of the relationship within a family. There are different types of parenting including single parenting and shared parenting. Family is a group of individuals with a continuing legal, genetic and/or emotional relationship. Society relies on the family group to provide for the spiritual, economic and protective needs of individuals, especially children and the elderly.
