Part Title
Introduction   Introduction
Identify pre-travel stress conditions and understand positive
and negative stress by using your stress thermometer.
First Stop

Add the fuel of essential spiritual stress-reducers: how the gospel and the atonement prevent and reduce negative stress.

Second Stop

Understand the three roads of reality. Choose the
Love/Trust level to reduce your stress.

Third Stop

The other stops discussed in the book are:

Fourth stop: Fill up your reserve tank of faith. Reduce your stress as you increase your faith. Fifth Stop: Add nourishing meals of love to lower your stress. Be more loving as you travel today. Sixth Stop: Loosen up and enjoy the trip: yes, the gospel does teach you to relax and enjoy life! Seventh Stop: Travel daily with the power of Christlike thoughts: change your feelings and behaviors by changing your thoughts. Eighth Stop: Avoid the side roads of member teachings. Instead, choose the freeway of stress-reducing gospel teaching. Ninth Stop: Avoid the impassable road of too high expectations: reduce your stress by having appropriate expectations. Tenth Stop: Avoid the road of perfectionism: strive for perfection while avoiding stress-causing perfectionism. Eleventh Stop: Give Christlike service as you travel your road of life. Avoid the service stopping chuckhole of codependency. Twelfth Stop: Travel with a healthy body through exercise, good nutrition and relaxation. Be aware of physical origins of stress. Thirteenth Stop: Reduce your stress as you travel by listening for feelings and improving your communication skills. Fifteenth Stop: Forgive those who bump into you as you travel the road of life: forgiveness is the very heart of stress-reduction. Sixteenth Stop: Follow Christ to your destination of peace. Stay on the path that leads to comfort and peace.

Acknowledgements

I want to acknowledge the help of many people in writing this book. It would not have been possible without the support of Darla Hanks Isakson, Editor of Covenant Communications, and her assistant, Alan Sevison. Their suggestions, editing, and support have made this book a more quality product. I also want to thank Arlene Bascom and Gillian Nicolaides for their help with the manuscript, Kay Allen whose willingness (for many years) to allow me to use his ideas on the Love/Trust level of reality has resulted in blessing the lives of many, James Baumgarten for the gracious use of his poem “Hunility” and all those who have contributed to my life and assisted me in my desires to bless the lives of others.
Many of my ideas have been developed over the years from sources such as talks and lectures, and many of my sources are unknown. The desire to give proper credit for every thought and to be totally honest has resulted in numerous phone calls and replies such as “Feel free to use it”. I don't know where I learned it, and I don't think any of us know the sources of all we teach." The processes has resulted in my increased tolerance for those who freely use my ideas. I feel it is as the Savior said, “Freely ye have received, freely give." (Matthew 10:8.)
Another way I love to serve is by speaking to the Saints. For years I have enjoyed speaking at numerous BYU Education Weeks and Know Your Religion Seminars across the United States. I would be glad to come to your ward or stake if it can be arranged. I would also like to make a request for feedback: Please let me know if this book has helped your journey through life. My home address is 1825 E. Faunsdale Drive, Sandy, Utah 84092.
